Our new scarf design is here, Dolce Far Niente, a design I made in Sardinia while on holiday with my dear friend Matteo.
In case you didn’t know, Dolce Far Niente means "the sweetness of doing nothing."
Something I am terrible at, but I am becoming better at it. I was trying to do nothing and relax; ultimately, my version of relaxing was designing scarves on the beach with my gouache paints and sketchbook, while wearing a darn scarf on my head, ah ha!
Now, as I wear the scarf around my head or neck, it has become a gentle reminder to myself to slow down.
Made for those who are elegant but not graceful, playful but not silly.

Is there any better combination than checks with stripes? Surely not! The Ali 100% silk scarf features them both with a burnt orange stripe against tonal off-white and beige segments, enhanced further by a central check section. Named after Ali Goodman, a friend, inspiring creative and founder of specialist leather goods company Francli Craftwear, this collaged design builds upon the famous jockey diamond, commonly seen on rider uniforms, and was created using a combination of ink and oil pastels to create a textural, soft finish. Measuring to 47 x 47cm, this square scarf can be tied around the neck, a ponytail or bun and the strap of your favourite everyday bag.

A 100% silk scarf to make you say ‘Yeeehaw!’, the Tonto features a collaborative screen print created by Ruth Blanke, a print student currently studying at the Royal College of Art, London. Working within printmaking, illustration and textile design, we feel super lucky to be able to showcase one of Ruth’s beautiful prints as part of the latest DARN collection, with an additional dash of colour for an extra spring in your step. Inspired by jockey riders as part of the DARN identity, an outlined ink illustration of horses has been printed in repeat to fill the square, whilst colour pop stripes and star shapes in orange, yellow and turquoise have been overlaid with a translucent effect. Measuring to 47 x 47cm, this square scarf can be tied around the neck, a ponytail or bun and the strap of your favourite everyday bag.
